New Videos by Our Group!

Hello (:
Our environmental group has made  two videos about the environment.

The first video titled 'A Million Ways To Go Green'. This video tells you about what you could do to help our earth! You can watch it online on youtube, on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duUBBxxF9PA

The second video titled 'The Fact Is..'. This video tells you about some unique and 'scary' facts about the our environment. You can watch it online on youtube, on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW3MF8RLolM

Note:
I tried to upload the videos on blogger but it takes too long on uploading, and failed for many times when I was uploading the videos. So, I decided to upload it to youtube first and then link it to blogger. But, we'll see if I could upload it into this blog another time. (:

The scene where the people are cutting down the trees, is just an example. They are not doing the illegal logging, but just landscaping their own property.

Central Kalimantan Environment

I live in central kalimantan, and i was born there, i love central kalimantan because there are many an awesome people live in, and there are many delicious traditional food, unique animal, cultures, and amazing panoramas like Forest and rivers. but i was upset and shock because many people cut the trees burning the forest and illegal logging, it disturbs our environment. Many people destroy it. but we should keep central kalimantan's forest because the forest of kalimantan is the lung of  world. if you won't lose oxygen you should help to keep forests in Central kalimantan. Plant many tress and don't cut it because its important for our live, and our new generation still can see the beautiful new panoramas and almost extinct animals.

What Businesses and Companies Can Do

Palm Oil Company
Many businesses and companies stand in Indonesia. Like palm oil, many businesses man choose to plant palm oil. The only think that make benefit and disadvantage. the disadvantage of this is make destroy our environment. Many way to help save. The businesses and companies can do :
  • They can choose the other place to plant the palm oil. Except in the forest, so they do not need to cut the trees
  • Don't need to plant it too much. Because if you plant it too much you need big area.
  • And thinking first what will happen if you plant palm oil. Its harms or gives us profits.

And those are the things that businesses and companies can do to help our environment.

Central Kalimantan's Environment and Its Problems

Central Kalimantan is one of the cutest cities in the world for me. I was born in Central Kalimantan, so I really love this place. I love to live in Central Kalimantan is because this island is very nice. There are many forests in it and the forests are still fresh. The panoramas are really good with the rivers around. Many unique animals, like Orangutans and Hornbills, I so proud live in here. The cultures are really good. Many an awesome dances, languages, and traditional foods. And as all of us have known, the forests in Kalimantan are lungs of the world. But, I feel so sad because many people started destroying the forests of our Central Kalimantan. It was because of forest fire and illegal logging, the people should not do this. It destroys our land and makes our unique animals almost extinct.

How Ordinary People Can Help the Environment

Air pollution, water pollution, loggings, mining, burning forests, waste/rubbish disposal, global-warming, endangered species, are some of the problems that our environment is facing now. As an ordinary people, we can also help our environment. We need our self-awareness to help the environment. We've got to realize how important our environment for our lives is and care to our environment. These are some ways for us to help our environment; they are easy to be done. And I know for sure that these things will help our environment a lot!
  • Throw rubbish to the rubbish bin. Don't throw the rubbish on the road or to the water bodies (e.g. rivers). It may causes pollutions on the road and in the rivers. As all of us have known, water pollution can cause flood, landslides, etc. And I know for sure that you do not want these things happened to our environment, do you? :)
  • Do not do the illegal loggings and burn the forest for your own interests. Maybe it could give you profits, but by doing the illegal logging and burn the forest, it also means death to the world. When the illegal loggers cut trees or when people burned forests, it means there would be less trees in the world. The world would die without trees, just like a person would die without lungs. Burning forests and illegal loggings also could narrow the forest as a habitat of the animals in the forest. It could kill the animals and make them extinct, also cause an imbalance in the forest ecosystem. You want your next generation to be able to see those unique forest-animals, don't you? So, stop doing illegal loggings and burning the forest!
  • Plant trees! More trees, means more oxygen and lives to the world. :)
  • Use the public transportations. By using the public transportation, there would be less air-pollution. Ten people in a public transportation could produce less pollution than ten people in ten cars. And if the distance is not too far, you could just use a bicycle or just walk. There would be no pollution produced by walking or riding the bicycle. It also could help to make the earth cooler because there would not too much greenhouse gasses (air pollution) that trap the sunlight in the atmosphere and make the earth warmer.
  • Save energies! Use electricity only when you need it. Save it for our next generations. With saving energies, there would be less pollution from making the electricity.
  • Do not be afraid to tell the police or government if you know that someone is doing the wrong thing that can destroy our environment (e.g. catching the endangered species, illegal loggings, mining).
  • If now you're a student, study! If you get some powers when you've grown up, you could help the world more.  And you could make a great change with a great chance to make this world better! (:
So, what are you waiting for? Let's help the world!
